QC employees to get bonuses on city’s 75th anniversary
MANILA, Philippines — Employees of the Quezon City government are to receive bonuses on the 75th anniversary of the city next month by virtue of an ordinance recently signed by Mayor Herbert Bautista.
The ordinance, introduced by Councilor Voltaire Godofredo Liban III, grants bonuses of P5,000 each for regular employees and P3,000 for other workers. The ordinance, signed by Bautista into law on September 3, appropriates P44.92 million for that purpose from the local treasury.
Quezon City, founded in 1939 under Commonwealth Act No. 502, will mark its diamond jubilee on October 12.
“As we celebrate the 75th anniversary, it is but fit and proper that QC extends its gratitude to its employees by way of providing them with an anniversary bonus,” Liban said in explaining the measure.
“All the good things we have achieved would not have come to pass were it not for the hard work, industry and efficient services of the legions of personnel and employees of the city government who are at the forefront in the delivery of basic public services,” he added.
