LPA spotted off Eastern Visayas

MANILA, Philippines–A new low pressure area (LPA) has developed affecting Bicol and Eastern and Central Visayas, while the one that was affecting northern Luzon dissipated on Sunday, according to the weather bureau.

The LPA was estimated at 280 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, at 4 a.m. Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Mindanao, Eastern and Central Visayas, Bicol Region, and the provinces of Rizal, Quezon and Aurora can expect cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms during the day, Pagasa said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, it added.
