Cops kill drug, bike theft suspects in QC, Parañaque

An alleged drug dealer and a motorbike theft suspect were killed by the police in separate encounters in Parañaque City and Quezon City.

Timothy James Alon, 29, took a shot in the head after he exchanged gunfire with  Parañaque City policemen around 8 p.m. on Thursday following a brief chase.

Police said Alon’s car overtook  several other vehicles  on Aguirre Avenue, catching the attention of  PO1 Khevin Klein Bautista  who was on  patrol duty.

Instead of stopping, Alon reportedly pointed a .45-cal. gun at Bautista before taking off. The policeman, together with the mobile patrol team of BF Homes, then gave chase.

Alon  opened fire, prompting the police  to  shoot back. Hit on the  head, Alon died on the spot.

Supt. Teofilo Andrada, deputy chief of police for administration,   said police found Alon’s gun  beside his body, apart from four sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

Police said that they would also investigate reports that Alon had sold illegal drugs to students in several Parañaque schools.

QC encounter

Meanwhile, in Quezon City, one of two theft suspects was killed in an encounter with law enforcers shortly after seizing a motorcycle from Manolito Lausa  early Friday.

Chief Supt. Richard Albano, director of the Quezon City Police District, said  Lausa was passing through Chestnut Street in Barangay North Fairview around 1 a.m. when the two suspects  on board a motorcycle blocked the victim’s  path.

One of the suspects took Lausa’s motorcycle at gunpoint, then sped  towards Mindanao Avenue in Barangay Talipapa.

Agents conducting police operations in the area noticed the two motorcycles   parked in a dimly lit area. One of the suspects immediately boarded one of the motorcycles and sped off as police approached them. The  other suspect fired at the police, resulting in a shoot-out.

Police have yet to get the name of the slain suspect who was identified by  Lausa   as the one who took his motorcycle.

Lausa’s motorcycle was recovered at the crime scene, along with the suspect’s .38-cal. revolver.
