Mom of teen battling cancer asks for help

MANILA, Philippines–Christopher John de la Cruz has been going to Philippine Children’s Medical Center for over four years to undergo chemotherapy for lymphoma, a form of cancer that affects the immune system.

Doctors, however, have recommended 26 days of radiotherapy after tests showed that the cancer cells have spread to the 18-year-old’s head and spine. For this, the family will need a total of P175,000.

The wife of taxi driver Allen de la Cruz with whom she has four children, Roselyn said Christopher seems to have accepted his illness as he does not complain too much.
