THE PECANDELA Law Firm backed by Mang Tinapay skippered by Mark Russ Gamallo drubbed Bhutakalz (formerly YLAC) led by Commissioner Ian Sapayan, 68-56, Saturday afternoon to capture the championship of the 6th IBP All Lawyers League basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym along Escario Street.
Earlier, the host team Pañeros Dynasty of Joseph Kirby Calipayan upset the highly favored Los Demonyos, 93-77, to win third place.
Tommy Yu topped Pecandela with 22 points and got huge support from Mark Russ Gamallo and Dennis Tenefrancia, who combined for 25 points.
Van Ligutan and Benjo Santiago paced Bhutakalz with 14 points apiece.
After the championship game, awarding rites followed immediately at Parkmall in Mandaue City. Gracing the awarding were Ferdinand Pepito and Erwin Heyrosa, the newly elected IBP president and vice president, respectivey.
