CARLO BIADO’S dream to become the next Filipino world champion was put to a stop yesterday.
This as the La Union ace Biado bowed to Fu Jianbo of China, 5-9, in one of two featured semifinal matches in the WPA World Ten Ball Championship at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
Fu took a commanding 8-1 lead and never looked back.
“Naunahan kasi tayo eh,” said Biado.
Fu set up a clash for the championship against
Huidji See of the Netherlands, who brought down Yukio Akakariyama of Japan, 9-6, in other final four match.
Earlier, Biado nipped countryman Dennis Orcollo, 9-4, in Saturday’s quarterfinal round. Fu, meantime dealt Lee Van Corteza an 8-9 loss, Akakayarima nipped Chris Melling of Great Britain, 9-6,while See defeated Tony Drago of Malta, 9-4.
