MANILA, Philippines—Detained Sen. Bong Revilla is opposing a prosecution motion asking the Sandiganbayan to order his transfer to a regular jail in Bicutan, Taguig, where two female coaccused in the P10-billion pork barrel scam are being held.

In a motion before the antigraft court, Revilla said his current detention at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center at Camp Crame, Quezon City, was “legal, proper and valid” as ruled by the Sandiganbayan’s First Division in a June 20 resolution.

Invoking the almost 20 million votes he got in the 2010 senatorial election, Revilla said he should be treated with some consideration because of his office despite his indictment for plunder and graft in connection with the alleged misuse of his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), the official name of the congressional pork barrel.
