At least 14 people injured in bus-jeepney collision on Ayala Avenue
MANILA, Philippines–At least 14 were hurt after a passenger jeepney beat the red light and got hit by a bus on the corner of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) and Ayala Avenue in Makati City Wednesday morning, a radio report said.
More than a dozen passengers were rushed to the hospital after the jeep, which carried the plate number NVE 969, beat a red light on the busy intersection.
The jeepney then collided with the oncoming Claro Trans bus, bearing plate number UYE 279, causing the jeep to fall on its side.
A Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Metrobase officer told INQUIRER.net that the accident has not been reported to their office yet.
But the report said Makati City Traffic personnel have brought the jeepney and bus drivers to an impounding area for further investigation.
The report added that the jeepney came from its terminal at Forbes Park.
