Rain in metro, Luzon as ‘Jose’ continues to enhance southwest monsoon–Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon “Jose” has maintained its strength as it continued its travel north, enhancing the southwest monsoon that would continue to bring occasional rain in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, the weather bureau said.
In its bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that “Jose” was packing maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of 200 kph and was spotted at 4 a.m. at 745 km east of Aparri, Cagayan.
Pagasa added that “Jose” was traveling a north northwest path at 13 kph.
With the enhanced southwest monsoon, Ilocos Region and Central Luzon will experience monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have occasional rains while Visayas will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, and Mindanao partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
