MANILA, Philippines — Alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles now wants the Sandiganbayan to subpoena the travel records of principal whistleblower Benhur Luy, this after the court had earlier summoned his and other whistleblowers’ bank records.

In a request for issuance of subpoena motion before the Sandiganbayan first division on Friday but made available Monday Napoles’ camp wants to summon Bureau of Immigration officials for Revilla’s bail hearing on August 7 and August 14.

“This is to formally request from the Honorable Court to issue a subpoena duces tecum to the Bureau of Immigration, Legal division, Magallanes division, Intramuros, Manila regarding the travel history/record within the period of 2004 to 2013 of Benhur Luy…” the motion read.

Napoles’ lawyer Stephen David had said he wants Luy’s travel records checked because he has reliable information that Luy traveled to Europe while under the employ of Napoles.

David questioned the financial capability of Luy to travel when he was just Napoles’ entrusted financial officer and the son of Napoles’ househelp.

David had also sought to subpoena bank officials over Luy’s bank records to find out if he also earned ill-gotten wealth.

Luy was Napoles’ finance officer over the pork barrel scam before he turned against his former boss and turned whistleblower.

Facing plunder and graft charges, Napoles also faces a serious illegal detention case for detaining Luy allegedly on suspicions that he was starting his own scam.
