‘Inday’ gains speed, nears PH exit

MANILA, Philippines–Tropical Storm “Inday” slightly got faster, but maintained its strength, as it gets set to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday afternoon.
In its weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) spotted “Inday” at 605 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes while moving at a pace of 20 kilometers per hour at a North Northwest path.
“Inday” packs maximum wind speeds of 75 kph and gusts of 90 kph.
Pagasa did not raise any public storm warning signal as “Inday” would not directly affect the country though the cyclone would enhance the southwest monsoon which would bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas and Cagayan Valley.
