Boy on way to take lunch after class killed by bus

CEBU CITY—An 8-year-old boy was killed after he was hit by a bus shortly before noon Tuesday in Dalaguete town, 85.1 km south of this city.

Andrei Villahermosa Jancinal of Barangay Banhigan, Dalaguete just came from class at the Banhigan Primary School and was heading home for a lunch break at 11:45 a.m. when the accident happened.

SPO1 Ethel Teves, of the Dalaguete Police Station, said Jancinal was crossing the highway when he was bumped by the Ceres Bus with body number 771. The bus was headed for Cebu City.

Because of the impact, Jancinal, who was thrown off the road, suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Cardinal Rosales Hospital in Dalaguete, Teves said.
