Student hangs self

A MALE nursing student was found hanging inside a vacant house near his house in Barangay Pacol on Monday morning, which police believed was a case of suicide.

Chief Insp. Ariel Ayosin, chief of Scene of the Crime Operatives, said Jonathan Hepe, 27, a third year nursing student of the Universidad de Santa Isabel, was found hanging with a nylon cord tied around his neck on the second floor of the house.

He left behind a suicide note and a video in his laptop with a message that asked his parents and siblings for forgiveness for what he did. Wedding feast attacked

A PRENUPTIAL revelry in Malita town turned bloody on Monday when armed men fired at the house where the celebration was being held, police said.

SP01 Carlito Nailes, Malita police investigator, said in a report that two persons were killed while five others, including a 6-year-old child, were wounded in the attack that took place past 9 p.m. in Sitio Agdao in Barangay Tubalan.

Nailes said the victims were celebrating the upcoming marriage of their relatives at the house of Anacleto Basilan when armed men in a boat arrived and started firing at them.

2 robbery suspects slain

POLICE killed two suspected robbers in Trece Martires City and Imus town in separate cases occurring in a span of four days.

An unidentified suspect was shot dead when he clashed with police at around 4 a.m. Monday in Barangay Hugo Perez, Trece Martires, police said.

The suspect and his two companions were caught picking the front lock of a tire shop. Two other suspects escaped during the gunfight. Police said they recovered a bolt cutter, a cross bar and a .38 cal. pistol from the scene.

In Imus, police said the suspect, a certain Arnel Bueno, was aboard a motorcycle with a still unidentified man when they attempted to hold up a man in Barangay Bayang Luma 7 at around 3 a.m.

Police did not identify the purported victim who was waiting for a ride when held up. “The victim resisted and was able to run to (a lit portion of) the Aguinaldo Highway,” Mojica said.

He said police chanced upon the victim and ran after the suspects who were cornered inside Plaridel Subdivision, also in the village. Mojica said Bueno drew a gun, forcing policemen to fire. Cop, bystander killed

A policeman and a bystander were killed in a gunfight Monday in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, police said Tuesday.

Police identified the fatalities as PO2 Rafael Gemoto, an intelligence operative of the Kabankalan City Police Station, and Noel Garcia, a tricycle driver who was killed in the crossfire during the gunfight in Coloso Extension in Barangay 6, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Tagaytay workshop on liposculpturing
