‘Henry’ maintains strength, signal No. 2 up on Batanes

MANILA, Philippines–Typhoon Henry maintained its strength, prompting the weather bureau to put Batanes Group of Islands under public storm warning signal No. 2 Monday late evening.

In its weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Henry was spotted 340 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan, or 340 km southeast of Basco, Batanes.

Pagasa also maintained public storm warning signal No. 1 in Cagayan, Babuyan Group of Islands, and Calayan Group of Islands.

Henry continues its northwest motion toward extreme northern Luzon with peak strengths of 130 kilometers per hour and gusts of 160 kph.
