‘Henry’ moving to Northern Luzon, four areas still under Signal No. 1

MANILA, Philippines–Typhoon “Henry” (international name: Matmo) has moved further away from the Philippine landmass but the public storm warning signals that the weather bureau raised Monday morning still stand.

In its weather bulletin issued at 11 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that “Henry” was at 480 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora.Pagasa added that “Henry” packs maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gusts of 160 kph while moving at a pace of 20 kph northwest.Batanes Group of Islands, Cagayan, Babuyan Group of Islands, and Calayan Group of Islands is still under storm warning signal no. 1.

“Henry” is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday morning.

Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Aurora Province are set to experience moderate to occasionally heavy rains due to “Henry” and the enhanced southwest monsoon.
