DSWD readies relief goods for ‘Glenda’ victims

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has readied a total of 166,863 family food packs in areas severely hit by Typhoon “Glenda.”

According to a 1 p.m. situation report by the National Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday, these relief goods were readied n the National Relief Operations Center (NROC), National Capital Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, as well as Regions I to VIII.

DSWD NROC: 42,805 family food packs, 709,931 assorted food items, and 455,883 assorted non-food items ready for distribution.
DSWD Region II: Availability of 5,715 family food packs and 36 boxes at 48 tins per box of ready-to-eat-food, as well as 12,556 family food packs to the identified 65 evacuation areas.

DSWD Region III: 8,242 family food packs for Aurora, Bulacan, Olongapo, Tarlac; meanwhile, 10,000 food packs are pre-positioned and additional 30,000 food packs will be purchased.

DSWD Region IV-A: 20,000 family food packs for provincial warehouses and 200 food packs to isolated and depressed areas.

DSWD Region IV-B: Another 20,000 family food packs for provincial warehouses and 200 food packs to isolate and depressed areas.

DSWD Region V: Stockpile of 2,000 family food packs ready for augmentation to local government units

DSWD Cordillera Administrative Region; 2,000 family packs in Mt. Province; 1,600 family packs each for Abra, Apayao, Kalinga and Ifugao; 3,420 family packs reserved at the regional office.

DSWD Region VII: 30,000 food packs ready for distribution.

DSWD National Capital Region: 3,000 family packs on standby.
