MANILA, Philippines—Work at the Senate was suspended on Wednesday as Typhoon “Glenda” was forecast to hit Metro Manila in the morning.
Senate President Franklin Drilon ordered the suspension of work Tuesday night.
“Per the latest weather bulletin, Typhoon Glenda is forecast to hit Metro Manila tomorrow morning,” said a text message from Drilon’s office.
“To help ensure the safety of our employees, Drilon has ordered the suspension of work in the Senate tomorrow, July 16,” it further said.
The Senate leadership earlier suspended its afternoon work in the chamber at around 4 pm this Tuesday, earlier than the 7 pm schedule.
