Gov’t work in Makati suspended—Mayor Binay

MANILA, Philippines—Government work in Makati City, except those involved in relief and  rescue operations, were suspended on Wednesday due to Typhoon “Glenda,” Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay said Tuesday night.

Binay’s statement on the cancellation of work in the city was sent in a text message by his spokesman, Joey Salgado.

Salgado also announced earlier the cancellation of classes in all levels in public and private schools in the city.
