Corona calls on Sereno: Defend SC from Aquino attack

MANILA, Philippines–Former Chief Justice Renato Corona called on Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno to defend the Supreme Court from the tirades of President Aquino.

“Chief Justice Sereno should react and defend the institution she represents. It’s her duty to do so. She should answer personally and not through her spokesman,” Corona said in a text message to reporters.

Aquino lashed out at the high court for declaring the Disbursement Acceleration Program as unconstitutional.
