Aquino to discuss gov’t action on SC’s DAP ruling
MANILA, Philippines – Malacanang on Sunday said that President Benigno Aquino III has read the Supreme Court decision declaring parts of the Disbursement Acceleration Program unconstitutional and is now ready to explain his administration’s actions to the public.
(After careful study of the document, the President discussed it with his Cabinet members to draft the government’s response to the decision, which has far-reaching implications on the people and the government.)
Coloma reiterated that Aquino’s televised speech on Monday night is part of his attempt to dialogue with the public.
He said they already asked members of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) to air the said speech at 6 p.m. on Monday.
(The President is asking for an opportunity to talk to his bosses, the Filipino people, and to shed light on the issues faced by the country, including the DAP which has been decided on by the Supreme Court.)
