MANILA, Philippines – With a weather system embedded within another weather system, rains are expected across the central and southern regions of the country, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

In its weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that as 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, a low pressure area was spotted 700 km east of northern Mindanao.

Pagasa added that the LPA was embedded at the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

Visayas and Mindanao are set to experience light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.
