MANILA, Philippines—Atty. Richard Cambe, who is Senator Ramon Revilla Jr.’s co-accused in the plunder case, said he would ask the Sandiganbayan to allow him to be detained in Camp Crame over his involvement in the pork barrel scam.
Atty. Michael Ancheta maintained that Cambe was merely used by the perpetrators in the pork barrel scam.
“Atty. Cambe is concerned for his safety. He wanted the PNP to be in charge of his custody,” Ancheta said.
The lawyer said they filed a commitment order for the PNP Custodial Center to take charge of Cambe’s custody.
Ancheta maintained that Cambe is innocent of the plunder charge against him over the pork barrel scam.
Cambe surrendered to the Sandiganbayan just hours after his former boss Revilla also surrendered.
He is detained at the sheriff’s office until the Sandiganbayan issues an order for him to be transferred to Camp Crame.
Cambe is Revilla’s former legislative staff and a co-accused in the plunder case.
