MANILA, Philippines–Contrary to previous reports that Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. underwent booking procedures at Sandiganbayan, the Philippine National Police (PNP) clarified on Friday that Revilla would only be booked at Camp Crame.

“There was no booking at Sandiganbayan. He will go through the regular booking process here at Camp Crame,” Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, PNP Public Information Office chief, ‎told reporters.

Taking of mugshots is a part of the booking procedure. Also under the process are the physical and medical examinations and fingerprinting.

Sindac assured that he would seek clearance ‎for the release of Revilla’s mugshot.

As of posting time, Revilla is undergoing booking procedures at the PNP Multipurpose Hall, accompanied by his immediate family members and lawyers.

Police said booking usually lasts for 30 minutes. ‎

Security barred the media from the premises of the hall.

Only Revilla’s relatives and lawyers were allowed to enter the hall.

The PNP also prohibited anyone from bringing in cellphones and gadgets ‎inside.

When asked about the condition of Revilla upon arriving at Crame, Sindac said: “his general appearance looked peaceful.”

The police official, however, was still unsure if Revilla would be detained‎ at the PNP Custodial Center.

The commitment order issued by the First Division of Sandiganbayan earlier Friday said Revilla will be jailed at the headquarters of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), which is also in Camp Crame.

‎”We would update you ‎regarding his final detention facility,” Sindac added.

Previous reports said the three senators are anticipated to be jailed at the Custodial Center, where newly-constructed quarters will be converted as their detention rooms.
