Girl found hanging inside bedroom in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines — A teenaged girl was found hanging inside her room on Wednesday night in Quezon City after her uncle scolded her early in the day.
A cousin discovered Trisha Marie Dequina, 15, hanging from the ceiling of her second floor bedroom inside the family home on Sauyo Road, Barangay (village) Sauyo in Novaliches.
A nylon rope was looped around the girl’s neck, with the other end tied to a wooden ceiling beam.
The case investigator, Police Officer 2 Rhic Roldan Pittong, said the body was discovered at around 6 p.m. Wednesday when the girl’s cousin John Lester arrived from school.
The cousin hurriedly sought the help of his father Leo in cutting down the victim.
Dequina was declared dead on arrival at the Bernardino General Hospital at around 7 p.m. that night.
Article continues after this advertisementSuperintendent Norberto Babagay, the Novaliches police station commander, said the girl’s uncle, Leo, scolded her earlier for talking to bystanders outside the house in the dead of the night.
