MANILA, Philippines—Commuters patronizing the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) will have free rides on Thursday in commemoration of the Philippine Independence Day.

Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) spokesman Hernando Cabrera, in a twitter post, said passengers could avail themselves of free rides in MRT and LRT stations from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

LRT Line 1 runs from Baclaran in Parañaque to Roosevelt, Quezon City, while Line 2 runs from Recto in Manila to Santolan in Marikina City.
