MANILA, Philippines—At least four members of the Nacionalista Party (NP) are being considered for higher positions in 2016, Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV said on Tuesday.

Trillanes, an NP member, did not identify the four, though he had earlier admitted that he was planning to seek a higher post in the next elections.

“I can’t speak for the others pero sa pagkakaalam ko ho apat po kaming tinitingnan so kung ano man ho yan, maganda ho ang usapan kasi eventually, the group or the organization that we’ll be forming e madadagdag sa isa’t isa kung sino man po ang mapipili,”  he  said in a radio interview.

(I can’t speak for the others but as far I know, there are four of us who are being considered so whatever it is, the discussion is good because eventually, the group or the organization  that we’ll be forming will add to the support of whoever will be chosen.)

Trillanes said that in the meantime, the party president, former Senator Manny Villar, has given the party members, who are planning to join the 2016 race, a go-signal to start making rounds and get the pulse of the public.

“Pero at some point po, babalik po kami at magde-decide kami as a party kung ano po ang pinakamagandang desisyon para sa ating bayan,” the senator said.

(But at some point, we will return and come up with a decision that is best for our country.)
