MANILA, Philippines–The remains of the missing co-pilot of the ill-fated OV-10 Bronco plane that crashed off Palawan were finally retrieved after almost a year.

This was confirmed to INQUIRER.net on Monday by Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Canaya, Air Force spokesperson.

The skeletal remains of First Lieutenant Abner Trust Nacion were found near the area of the crash site east of Puerto Princesa by the 570th Composite Tactical Wing.

The body of pilot Major Jonathan Ybanez was recovered last December.

The two were the subject of search operations when their plane went missing after a night proficiency flight off Palawan on June 23 last year.

After the incident, the Air Force grounded its entire fleet of OV-10 planes.

Nacion’s remains were flown to Villamor Air Base last Sunday.
