LPA northeast of Batanes to bring rains to parts of northern Luzon
MANILA, Philippines–Several parts of northern Luzon will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms on Friday due to a lingering low pressure area, the state weather bureau said.
According to the early-morning bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA was last located 450 kilometers northeast of Basco.
“Ilocos Region and the islands of Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms,” the weather bulletin said.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
Pagasa said light to moderate winds coming from the south to southwest will prevail over Luzon and from the south over Visayas and Mindanao.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
