‘Manila’s Worst’?

/ 12:04 AM June 06, 2014

No thanks to the illegal activities of some rogue policemen, Manila’s Finest might as well be Manila’s Worst.

Six members of the Manila Police District (MPD) have been charged for allegedly extorting money from a suspected drug pusher and forcing his live-in partner to have sex with one of them.

Director Benjamin Magalong, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), identified the erring policemen as SPO4 Anthony Carpio, SPO3 Emmanuel Bautista, SPO1 Victor Amisola and Police Officers 1 Jaycee John Galutera, Joseph Casimiro and Teodorico Arias.

“The evidence against them is strong,” Magalong told reporters at a briefing in Camp Crame.

He said the CIDG filed cases of rape, robbery extortion, unlawful arrest, arbitrary detention and violation of the antigraft law against the policemen, all assigned at the MPD Station 6.

According to Magalong, the policemen arrested Vincent Samson for his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade during an operation they conducted in Sta. Ana last month.

“Samson was taken to the police station where the policemen demanded P50,000 for his release and [the] dropping of charges against him,” he said.

After some haggling, the six lawmen agreed to lower their demand to P3,000, Magalong added.

But before releasing Samson, Carpio allegedly forced Samson’s live-in partner to have sex with him as part of the deal, he said. Marlon Ramos
