QC Jubilee pageant accepting candidates until June 30

The search is on for Miss Quezon City Diamond Jubilee. Mayor Herbert Bautista recently announced the opening of the pageant as part of the yearlong celebration of the city’s 75th founding anniversary. “It is with much anticipation of the forthcoming jubilee festivities and commemoration rites that we look forward to the crowning of our Diamond Jubilee queen. During her reign, she will articulate to the world how Quezon City moves forward to a Future Perfect (the jubilee theme),” the mayor said. The candidate must be a Filipino citizen, 18-24 years old, with at least one year residency in the city. Applications are accepted until June 30 at the City Administrator’s Office at city hall; EPWMD Office at the Annex Building; Novaliches District Center in Barangay Sta. Monica, and all barangay centers citywide. The screening of all applicants will be on July 5; the elimination round will be on Aug. 9, and Pageant Night will be on Sept. 13, 8 p.m., at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo. The winner will get P200,000; 1st runner-up, P150,000; 2nd runner-up, P100,000; and 3rd runner-up P75,000.
