Golf carts, e-motorcycles found inside Bilibid’s maximum security compound
MANILA, Philippines – Amid reports of special treatment given to high-profile convicts, the Department of Justice (DOJ) discovered 30 golf carts and electronic motorcycles (e-motorcycles) inside New Bilibid Prison (NBP) on Tuesday.
A police source, who requested anonymity, said that Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) personnel brought out several golf cart units and e-motorcycles placed inside the Maximum Security compound around 10 a.m.
The source said in a text message that some of the golf carts and motorcycles were turned over to the relatives of prisoners.
The remaining golf carts and motorcycles were placed “beside the stage of the playground near the office of the Escorting Unit” outside the Maximum Security compound.
The source said the discovery came during BuCor’s preparation for the forthcoming investigation of the Department of Justice (DOJ) at NBP.
