New Palestinian unity government sworn in

RAMALLAH – A new Palestinian unity government was sworn in before President Mahmud Abbas on Monday in line with a surprise unity deal between leaders in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The cabinet, which is made up of political independents, comprises 17 ministers, five of them from Gaza, and is headed by Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah.
