Suspected thief slain
A man was killed on Saturday by a security guard when he and his four companions allegedly tried to rob an appliance store in Dagupan City, police said. Supt. Christopher Abrahano, city police director, said the man was shot dead at 12:40 p.m. by a security guard whom the suspects failed to disarm.
The suspects entered BHF Appliance Center, disarmed two security guards and announced a holdup, Abrahano said. An employee distracted the suspects by setting off the store alarm, Abrahano said, allowing the guard to fire at them. He said four suspects panicked and fled on two motorcycles, leaving behind their slain companion and their loot.
