STA. CRUZ, Laguna, Philippines — The regional director of the Department of Interior and Local Government in Calabarzon arrived at the provincial capitol Wednesday afternoon to serve the writ of execution against Emilio Ramon “ER” Ejercito.

DILG regional director Josefina Go said the writ of execution was issued Tuesday night by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), disqualifying Ejercito for overspending in the 2013 elections.

Go was with Comelec regional director Juanito Icaro.

On Tuesday, the Comelec swore in Laguna Vice Governor Ramil Hernandez as the new governor. Hernandez on Wednesday held office at the Laguna Sports Complex, also in this town, but in a separate compound from the capitol.

Ejercito has remained holed up in his office since the Comelec ruling came out.

The Calabarzon police has deployed about 100 men but regional police director Chief Superintendent Jesus Gatchalian said it was only meant to maintain peace and order.
