2 die as wall collapses
ISABELA, Philippines—A 15-year-old boy and his uncle were killed on Friday when the wall of a building that they were constructing collapsed during a hailstorm, police said.
Felix Gammad and Lucas Guzman, 53, both of Purok 5 in Barangay Tagaran, Cauayan City, were killed instantly when strong wind and rain, accompanied by ice pellets, toppled the wall at the Allan Pua compound in Barangay Minante Uno here.
Gammad was working as a helper to earn money for his schooling next month, the Inquirer learned. Police said the two victims failed to run to safety and were buried by debris.—Villamor Visaya Jr.
