FEU Tech innovates technology education with new program and pioneering specializations

MANILA, Philippines – Staying true to its plan of expanding its Technology Education, the Far Eastern University (FEU) Institute of Technology (formerly known as FEU – East Asia College) will be giving incoming freshmen new offerings to help them prepare for their future.

“FEU Tech is truly a powerhouse of Technology Education. We have a brand new 17-story hi-tech building, we have new program offerings, and we have top-notch faculty and facilities,” executive director Benson T. Tan said.

FEU Tech’s new offerings for the school year of 2014-2015 include Mechanical Engineering, a specialization in Business Analytics for the Computer Science program, and a specialization in Business Analytics and/or Service Management for the Information Technology program.

“We recognize the need to offer more programs to help students choose the most fitting degree for their success after graduation. We also want to make sure that parents understand which programs and specializations are right for their children and be able to guide them accordingly,” he added.

Other program offerings include Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, with specializations in Software Engineering, and Information Technology, with specializations in Digital Arts, Web and Mobile Applications, and Animation and Game Development.

FEU Tech is innovating technology education in the Philippines by pioneering Business Analytics as a specialization in both Computer Science and Information Technology degrees.

“Few other schools offer what we do. Our school recognizes the need to ready the youth for the rapidly changing future of technology. With these new specializations we are one step ahead of others,” Tan said.

“Our students will have the skills needed to be experts and specialists ready for the impending big data balloon, which is predicted by the International Data Corporation to come as early as 2020,” Tan stated.

The new addition of Mechanical Engineering will also bolster FEU Tech as one of the best engineering schools in the Philippines and allow it to make a more dynamic and all encompassing technology school.

With a new building, a new name, and new program offerings, the FEU Institute of Technology is definitely on its way to becoming the Philippine’s premiere school for technology education.
