MANILA, Philippines—A minority lawmaker raised the possibility of filing a class suit against the Philippine Daily Inquirer for publishing the alleged list of beneficiaries in the pork barrel scam.

Isabela Representative Rodolfo Albano III said the reports were one-sided and that the list supposedly provided by principal whistleblower Benhur Luy was not verified.

“They did not say it was an allegation. There was no verification. They just published the list,” Albano said in Filipino during a press conference by the minority bloc on Wednesday.

Albano, however, said he has yet to talk with other lawmakers who felt they were unfairly included on the list for the filing of a class suit.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) published a series of reports on the alleged diversion of public funds to ghost projects under the scheme of alleged mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles.

The Inquirer reported that about 150 former and incumbent lawmakers were included on Luy’s list.
