MANILA, Philippines – After raging for almost seven hours, the forest fire at the foot of Mayon volcano was put out Wednesday morning, according to a radio report.
The combined force of the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Office For Civil Defense teamed up to douse the blaze which started Tuesday late evening.
Albay Governor Joey Salceda said that the kaingin system was the cause of the fire.
No one was injured as the fire occurred inside the four-kilometer danger zone around the volcano. Bong Lozada
