In its official Twitter account, Meralco said the power interruption occurred at 1:37 p.m.

It did not state the reason, although Metro Manila and nearby areas have been grappling with a power shortage due to a greater demand for than supply of electricity in power generators.
“All efforts are being exerted to restore power in the remaining areas as soon as possible,” Meralco said.
On Friday, rotational brownouts hit Metro Manila and Bulacan after the Pagbilao power plant bogged down due to a power deficit.
