MANILA, Philippines – Ahead of the opening of some schools in June, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is ready to secure and ensure the safety of students, parents and teachers against criminals and terrorist threats.

“The PNP is ready for the opening of classes. This is part of our Oplan Summer Vacation,” Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, Public Information Officer of the PNP, said in Filipino in an interview on Radyo Inquirer 990AM.

Sindac added that the PNP would mobilize intelligence officers and canine units nationwide amid an increase in the number of enrolees based on Department of Education figures.

PNP preparations for the school opening are part of the final phase under the three-month Oplan Summer Vacation that the PNP launched in March.
