MANILA, Philippines—Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III filed criminal and administrative charges before the Ombudsman on Tuesday against Department of Agriculture officials who allegedly forged his signatures for a P10-million organic fertilizer fund scam.
Pimentel said his signatures in a letter dated Oct. 2012 requesting for the funds were forged.
He added that the letterhead was also fake.
The agriculture officials facing charges are: Antonio Fleta, undersecretary for administration and finance; Delia Ladera, supervising administrative officer; Charie Sarah Saquing, department chief accountant; and Telma Tolentino, officer-in-charge, budget division.
Pimentel confirmed that he met Janet Lim-Napoles when she offered to set a project with him, but the senator rejected it.
He also said Napoles offered to contribute campaign funds which he also denied.
