MANILA, Philippines— Malacañang on Tuesday denounced the latest media killing in the country, two days after a broadcast journalist in Tawi-Tawi was gunned down.
Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma said that Malacañang condemns the killing and that the police are already on the case.
“We condemn the killing of Mr. Richard Najid,” Coloma said. “We have tasked the Philippine National Police to identify, apprehend, and persecute the people behind the crime.”
Najid, who was the acting station manager of DXNN-FM, died of multiple gunshot wounds. He was laid to rest on Monday.
