Sandiganbayan OKs Arroyo’s request to undergo medical procedure
MANILA, Philippines—The Sandiganbayan on Friday allowed the motion of former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to undergo urodynamic testing at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City.
The graft court’s first division allowed Arroyo to undergo urodynamic testing after she filed an urgent motion early this Friday due to complaints of trouble in urinating.
Urodynamic testing is a procedure that looks if the bladder and urethra are performing their jobs of storing and releasing urine properly.
Arroyo will leave the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) 12 noon this Friday and is expected to undergo a medical procedure until 3:00 pm.
The former president has been under hospital arrest because of various health conditions including spine problems and heart-related ischemia. She has been charged for plunder stemming from the alleged misuse of the P366 million intelligence funds of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). Plunder is a non-bailable offense.
