Binay gears up for ‘attacks’ over presidential survey results
MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Jejomar Binay is anticipating an intensified attack against him after he reportedly emerged as the number one choice for president in a recent survey.
“For Vice President Binay, performance and experience are the best measures for leadership. If there is a survey result like this, he is thankful to the people for recognizing his readiness to become president,” Joey Salgado, Binay’s spokesman, said in a statement Thursday.
“Gayunman, alam namin na may balak ang ilang grupo na patindihin ang paninira kay Vice President at sa kanyang pamilya. Maaaring ang resulta ng survey na ito ang maging hudyat ng kanilang demolition job kay Vice President Binay,” Salgado added.
(Nevertheless, we know that there are certain groups planning to intensify the attack against the Vice President and his family. The result of this survey may signal a demolition job against Vice President Binay).
Reports said Binay topped a Pulse Asia survey conducted from from March 19 to 26, 2014 with 40 percent of the 1,200 respondents picking him as the number one choice for president followed by neophyte Senator Grace Poe with 15 percent.
