Hairstylist knifed dead on QC street

/ 12:31 AM April 26, 2014

A hairstylist was stabbed dead in his neighborhood in Barangay Balingasa, Quezon City, early Friday morning. Louie Adona, 26, was found slumped on the pavement on A. Bonifacio Street shortly before 2 a.m. Insp. Elmer Monsalve, homicide section chief of the Quezon City Police District, ruled out robbery as the motive, noting that none of the victim’s valuables were taken.

The case investigator, PO2 Julius Balbuena, said Adona was walking near a Banco de Oro branch at the corner of A. Bonifacio and Bignay Alley when attacked. A homeless man who had spent the night on the sidewalk told police that he was roused from sleep by the victim’s screams for help and saw another man running away from the crime scene. Adona bore a stab wound in the chest and cuts on the arms and thighs, the latter possibly indicating that he tried to fend off the knife attack, Monsalve said. Julie M. Aurelio
