Police identified the fatality as Gemma dela Cruz, 29, whose body was recovered Wednesday morning in Barangay (village) Sabang, Magdalena in Laguna.
The victim was reportedly killed by her husband, Billy dela Cruz, and his brother, Angelito dela Cruz.
Police Inspector Darius Agmaliw of San Juan City Police said Angelito admitted that he helped his brother dump the victim’s body in Laguna at 4:30 a.m. on April 22.
Before the parricide was discovered, an informant told San Juan police Tuesday night, that a security guard, Rizaldy Paday, 22, saw two men carrying a lifeless body from Dela Cruz’s residence in San Juan City.
The informant told the police that the witness saw the two men boarded a gray Mitsubishi L300 Van with plate number TRJ 926.
Police immediately conducted a manhunt operation and arrested Angelito at 412 Ipil St., Manila Doctor’s Subdivision, Las Pinas City.
The primary suspect was not arrested during the manhunt but a follow-up operation led to the arrest of Billy in No. 9 Love St., Camella Homes, Pilar, Las Pinas City.
The two suspects were already detained in San Juan City Police station while the investigation is still ongoing.
The motive to the incident is still undetermined.
