Ruby Tuason meets with Ombudsman official—report
MANILA, Philippines—Provisional state witness Ruby Tuason met with officials of the Office of the Ombudsman on Tuesday, but the purpose of the meeting remains to be seen, a radio report said.
The report said Tuason arrived at the Ombudsman Tuesday afternoon with her lawyer Dennis Manalo and officials of the Witness Protection Program of the Department of Justice.
Tuason and her lawyer refused to divulge the details of the two-hour meeting, the report said.
Tuason, the former social secretary of deposed president Joseph Estrada, testified before the Senate as provisional state witness against Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada. She claimed to have personally delivered bags of money to Estrada’s office in the Senate.
She left on March 2 for San Francisco, California to look for prospective buyers for her Forbes Park house in a bid to return government money she received through the pork barrel scam. She returned on April 8.
