Day One is a general workshop with lots of writing exercises and group activities to get the creative juices of participants flowing. The goal is to have enough seeds for a story to plant, grow and submit for the workshop’s Day Two.
The creative writing exercises will focus on the elements of character, plot and setting. The feature writing exercises will focus on the lead, transition paragraphs and the conclusion.
Day Two is a smaller group workshop for the participants to comment on other people’s stories and receive feedback about their own stories. The goal of this exchange is to highlight the writer’s strengths and pinpoint particular elements and sections where the writing can be improved.
A workshop fee of P400, to cover lunch and light snacks for both days, will be payable at the door on Day One.
Participants will be limited to 30 so preregistration is a must. E-mail: IIE Teachers Writing Workshop, your name, school and mobile phone numbers to [email protected]. Or text the same to 0918-3824061.
