MRT, LRT to shut down for Holy Week

MANILA, Philippines – The Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) and Light Trail Transit (LRT) would suspend its operations for the Holy Week.

In their advisories posted on the Philippine Information Agency Twitter account, the MRT-3, LRT-1 and LRT-2 would shut down its operations from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, April 17 to April 20.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, April 16, the last departure train from LRT-1 Baclaran, LRT-1 Roosevelt and LRT-2 Santolan is at 8 p.m., while in LRT-2 Recto at 8:30 p.m., the advisory read.

Operations would resume on Monday, April 21.

The LRT-1 runs from Roosevelt Avenue, Quezon city to Baclaran, Pasay city while LRT-2 runs from Santolan, Pasig to Recto Avenue, Manila. Meanwhile, the MRT-3 runs from North Avenue, Quezon city to Taft Avenue, Manila.

The Philippine National Railways had also suspended its operations during the Holy Week for its maintenance procedures.
