Truck driver killed in QC

MANILA, Philippines—A truck driver was shot in the head by still unidentified men in Quezon City before dawn Monday.

Unfortunately, no one saw who killed Edmar Ligsay, 34, on Leyte Street in Barangay (village) Payatas. Case investigator PO2 Rhic Roldan Pittong said the victim, a resident of nearby Visayas Street, was seen sprawled on the ground after a gunshot rang out.

A woman told the police she heard a gun being fired around 2 a.m. Monday. When she went out of her house to see what caused the noise, she saw the victim lying on the street.

The police recovered a casing from a .45-cal. pistol from the crime scene and also found two .45-cal. bullets in the victim’s pocket.—Julie M. Aurelio
